Shirley M. Stricklin

Shirley M. Stricklin, 73, of Muncie, IN passed away Wednesday morning, May 14, 2014, at the Indiana University Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Collinwood, Tennessee, on November 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Ross and Frances Wilbanks Adams.

Ms. Stricklin had worked in retail for over 20 years retiring in 2002 having served both K-Mart and Wal-Mart department stores in the shoe, health, and beauty aids departments. She enjoyed country music particularly banjo music. Shirley enjoyed photographs of family and friends. Ms Stricklin had collected collector plates and various nick knacks and enjoyed feeding birds.

She is survived by a son, Martin "Marty" Stricklin and wife Diane of Muncie, IN,
three grandchildren, Martin II, "Marty" Stricklin, Zachary "Zach" Stricklin, and Tyler Stricklin all of Muncie, IN, two sisters, Willodean (Dean) Franks and husband Joe of Mishawaka, IN and Brenda Marie Melson and husband Cledith of Florence, AL, a brother, Jerry Adams of Toney, AL, sister-in-law, Jean Adams, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ross Adams, Jr., and 3 younger brothers and 1 older brother.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 19, 2014 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee with Jerry Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery at Collinwood with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
