Suzanne L. Young

Mrs. Suzanne Lee Ball Young of Waynesboro departed this life on Monday, August 31, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 11 Months, 25 Days. She was born September 6, 1938 in Boomer, WV, the daughter of the late William Jennings Ball and June Ann Murphy-Ball Hermann. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by a son, John David Young and a sister, Diane Rose.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Harold Young on June 15, 1957. Mr. Young preceded her in death on December 20, 1999.

When she first came to Waynesboro she was the secretary for Mr. Roy Haggard, a local attorney. She was a retired from the Department of Human Services in Waynesboro after 40 years of service. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro and in the past was involved with Women's Republican Party, Red Hat Society, CPW at Church and Hobby Club.

She is survived by daughter, Kristia Marie Fann and husband Chris of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren, Will Massey, Chad Young, Madison Young, Ann-Marie Young, and Alexis Fann, a sister, Katherine Lynn Pow-Sang and husband Dr. Julia Pow-Sang; boyfriend of many years, Gene Helton of Waynesboro, TN; sister in law Martha Ann Kelly and husband James of Clifton, TN, nieces & nephews; Kim Berlin, Craig Kelly, Katherine Vinson, Adam Blackwell, and great niece, Brooke Blackwell.

Services will be held on Wednesday; September 2, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 1, 5:00--8:00 pm and Wednesday, September 2, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
