THOMAS ‘TOM’ EDWARD TOMBLIN
Henderson, TN: Thomas Edward Tomblin, age 77 passed away February 18, 2015 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born August 21, 1937 in Thawville, IL the son of the late Joseph Edward and Luella Pearl Anderson Tomblin. He graduated from Gibson High School in Gibson City, IL. He married Rose Taylor on August 7, 1971. He was a grain and hog farmer for many years and also served in the Illinois National Guard for nine years. They moved to Pinson, TN in 2000 and he worked for Double Tree Hotel in Jackson in maintenance, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed tractor pulls, participating in 3K & 5K Run’s, and gardening. He loved his children and grandchildren especially vacationing with his family in the Great Smokey Mountains and at amusement parks as he really liked riding roller coasters. He was a member of the Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Henderson.
Mr. Tomblin is survived by his wife, Rose Tomblin of Henderson; a daughter, Carrie Jones and husband Jeremy of Pinson; a son, Jerald Edward Tomblin (Heather) of Jackson; six grandchildren, Chris Tomblin, Jered Tomblin, Lauren Tomblin, Savannah Jones, Hailey Jones and O.C. Jones and a great grandchild, Wyatt Tomblin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe Tomblin, Jr. and Ronnie Tomblin.
A memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 1 at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Henderson with a dinner to follow. Pastor Larry Rhodes will be officiating.
