Tony Dino Saccapilltio was born February 2, 1942 in Detroit, MI the son of the late Jack Purther, Sr. and Clare Maurine McDonald Purther. He passed from this life on May 2, 2018 at Magnolia Regional Health Center at the age of 76 years and 3 months.
He grew up in Southern California and graduated from Pomona High School. He earned Masters Degrees from both Stanford and Harvard Universities. He married Diane Willoughby in February 1968. He worked as a Supervisor at RayChem in Redwood City, CA for 30 years before retiring. He then opened a restaurant in Hanford, CA where he also was a chef. He moved to Jacks Creek, TN in 1997 and opened No. 1 Fresh Fry restaurant in Henderson where his specialty was shrimp.
He loved to fish and to cook for everyone and he was noted for his “Mr. T’s Beef Jerky”.
He is survived by his wife Diane Saccapilltio of Henderson; two sons Kirk Saccapilltio and wife Angela of Jacks Creek, Josh Saccapilltio of San Jose, CA; four daughters Shena Visto of San Francisco, CA, Lorena Bull of Riverside, CA, Elena Saccapilltio of Las Vegas, NV, and Krena Saccapilltio of Henderson; three brothers Bennett Purther of Applegate, CA, Jack Purther, Jr. of LaVerne, CA and Mark Purther of Washington state; two sisters Maureen Gomez of Southern CA and Joyce Ashworth of Hesperia, CA; eleven grandchildren Ryan Bonner, Brittany Bonner, Cortney Holloway and husband Cody, Warren Saccapilltio, Jazmen Segars, Claire Visto, Kalena Segars, Rozlyn Segars, Dahlia Ross, Drevan Saccapilltio and Anyia Saccapilltio; two great grandchildren Kasen Holloway and Kinsley Holloway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeremiah Saccapilltio and two brothers Warren Purther and David Purther.
Graveside services will be 4:30 PM Sunday, May 6, at Jacks Creek Apostolic Church Cemetery with Brent Daniel and Larry Rhodes officiating.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson’s East Main Chapel on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
