Tony Clark Turner was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 3, 1946, the son of Lois Gertrude Bonee Turner and the late J.E. Turner. On February 19, 2011, he was united in marriage to Tammie Franks, who survives.
Tony had worked for Brown Shoe Company and retired from American Commercial Barge Lines (ACBL) after 41 years, where he been Riverboat Captain. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. Tony loved sitting on his porch drinking black coffee while it was raining and hunting deer from his front porch. He loved his ten hummingbird feeder each summer and in the fall watching the baby calves being born. Tony loved his children, but the grandkids he really enjoyed being around. He enjoyed playing on his dozier, backhoe, and tractor with them.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie Turner of Savannah, Tennessee; children, Jeanne Turner, Lisa Kelley and husband Mark, Amanda Head and husband Chuckie, and Anthony Turner and wife Shanda; step children, Todd Ozment and wife Casey, Rebekah Geisler and husband Trevor, and Caleb Ozment; mother, Lois Gertrude Bonee Turner; sister, Cathy Howard and husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Ryan Young, James Staggs, Kendall Kelley, Tyler Kelley, Logan Kelley, Mack Short, Reed Short, Riley Short, and Drew Turner; and step grandchildren, Caelyn Ozment, Cadence Ozment, and Atarah Geisler.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Turner.
