Troy (Junior) Wilbanks was born June 1, 1943 in Pocahontas, TN the son of the late Troy and Clois Littlejohn Wilbanks.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Lee Everett on June 23, 1962. Mrs. Wilbanks preceded him in death on May 19, 2008, following 45 years of marriage.
Mr. Wilbanks was self-employed as a master plumber and farmer. He operated Wilbanks and Sons Plumbing Company for many years. After retiring, he worked part-time for the McNairy Farmer's Co-Op and delivered the Sunday edition of the Commercial Appeal in Corinth and Selmer. At the age of 63 he enrolled in the adult education program and obtained his GED in 2007. He was an avid squirrel, rabbit, and dove hunter and liked antique automobiles. He enjoyed following the Oakland Raiders, New York Yankees, and Boston Celtics sports teams. Mr. Wilbanks was a great supporter of the Carl Perkins Center, buying clothes and toys for the children; he was a generous person who would help anyone in need. Mr. Wilbanks was a member of the Chewalla Baptist Church.
Mr. Wilbanks departed this life on September 16, 2014 in Ramer, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 3 Months, 15 Days. He is survived by three daughters: Rhonda Lamberth and husband Sam of Ramer, TN, Melba Huggins and husband Wade of Selmer, TN, and Lisa (Trixie) Cox and husband Brandon of Selmer, TN; a son, Bryan (Peanut) Wilbanks of Bethel Springs, TN; six grandchildren: Greg (Hoot) Smith, Tori (Toots) Smith, Connor (Tadpole) Huggins, Johnathan (Pud) Cox, Nathan (Laurel) Cox, and Blake (Hardy) Cox; three sisters: Grapel Starnes and husband David of Corinth, MS, Darlene Rowland of Covington, TN, and Barbara Bennett of Corinth, MS; four brothers: Paulie Wilbanks and wife Lila of Walnut, MS, A. D. Wilbanks of Corinth, MS, James (Leo) Wilbanks and companion Vicki of Pocahontas, TN, and Jimmy Wilbanks of Corinth, MS; two sisters-in-law, Gearldine and Ruby Wilbanks, both of Corinth, MS; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wilbanks was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wilbanks, on June 28, 2009; a sister, Juanita Wilbanks; and two brothers, J. L. and Wesley Wilbanks.
