Vernon Ray Bissell was born December 18, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, IA the son of the late Raymond and the Raynelle June Chettinger Bissell.
He was united in marriage to Secgretta Lee Gillihan on September 13, 2001.
Mr. Bissell departed this life at his home on Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 58 Years, 5 Months, 9 Days.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years and worked as a Tax Preparer for Farm Bureau. He enjoyed traveling and visiting exotic destinations all across the world.
He is survived by his wife Secgretta Lee Gillihan Bissell of Waynesboro, TN, three sons, Johnathan Dewayne Bissell, Montgomery Roman Bissell, Matthew Platz, a daughter, Sirena Ann Benefield, two brothers, Derrik J. Bissell, Danny Holthauser, four sisters, Joann L. Bissell, Sharon R. Bissell, and Debra Ann Bissell.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bissell was preceded in death by stepmother, Anna Mae Bissell and grandfather, George R. Bissell.
At his request he was cremated and his request was burial at sea.
