Mrs. Virginia Ann Lax, age 69 of New Port Richey, Florida and formerly of the District 15 area of Fayette County, passed away Friday morning, January 17, 2014, at Marliere Care Center in New Port Richey, FL.
A native of Somerville, Mrs. Lax was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Maudie Beatrice Henley Brown. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in the District 15 area of Fayette County and had worked in sales. Mrs. Lax had lived in Florida for the last 9 years.
She leaves her son, David Lax and his wife Staci of St. Petersburg, FL; four sisters, Helen Lax of Collierville, Josie Inzirillo and Margaret Tippitt, both of Somerville and Rosemary Hunt of Olive Branch, MS; two brothers, Otis Brown of Williston and Boyd Brown of Middleton; four grandchildren, Lindsay Wedge, Courtney, Allen and Sarah Lax; and a great-grandchild, Tristan Wedge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Wayne Lax; a sister, Elizabeth Crisp; and a brother, James Mitchell Brown.
