VIRGINIA LEE JONES TURNBO
was born in Lexington, Tennessee on October 19, 1922 the daughter of the late Walter and Frankie Gooch Jones.
Virginia met her husband Roscoe Turnbo in Lexington, Tennessee and they married on April 22, 1939. They lived in Perry County then moved to Hardin County in 1946. They had six children and were married for 71 years when her beloved husband died on December 27, 2010.
Virginia was a homemaker and helped her husband Roscoe on their farm. They raised six children with the same love they had for each other. They both were Christians and had a strong faith and love for the Lord. She was a very kind, loving, caring and beautiful person. She was the best mother in the world and owns the respect of all, her children were most blessed to have her for their mother. Virginia was a member of Saltillo First Baptist Church and Eastern Star.
Virginia enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, flowers and doing for others. She loved reading her Bible and was a servant to the Lord. Virginia loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren greatly.
She departed this life on November 25, 2015 at her home in Saltillo, Tennessee at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 6 days.
Virginia is survived by her children, Glenn Turnbow and his wife Dot of Gallatin, Tennessee, Austin Turnbow and his wife Betty of Jackson, Tennessee, Rudolph Turnbow and his wife Olga of Saltillo, Tennessee, Charlotte Finley and her husband Larry of Saltillo, Tennessee and Sheila Scott and her husband Rodney of Huron, Tennessee.
11 grandchildren, Lisa, Kevin, Todd, Tina, Mark, Caroline, Jason, Byron, Laura, Christopher and Dean
16 great grandchildren, Kayla, Alexanderia, Andrew, Anna, Baley, Abie, Ellye, Bella, Casey, Lucas, Easton, Grayson, Ashton, Finley Virginia, Rudolph and Jameson
one sister, Irene Key of Culver City, California
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Leon "Pete" Turnbow, three grandchildren, Preston Turnbow, Brad Turnbow and Timothy Joe Turnbow, two brothers, Edgar Turnbow and Randolph Turnbow and three sisters, Lena Edminson, Marie Humphrey and Ruby Bledsoe.
