Waymon M Holmes

Mr. Waymon M Holmes age 89, passed away Sunday morning January 5, 2014 at the Henderson Health and Rehab Center.
Mr. Holmes was born in Chester County son of the late Artemus and Lessie Mayo Holmes. Mr. Holmes farmed in his early years and operated Holmes Trucking Company for many years, later working as a fireman for the City of Henderson, retiring from the city and operating Holmes Produce which gave him an opportunity to talk to people; something that he really enjoyed. He attended A New Beginning Church in Finger.
Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife Mildred Cagle Holmes of Henderson, daughter Shirley Wall (Donald) of Jackson, son Robert Holmes ( Cara), Henderson and special family Glenda Wilson, Step children Patsy Maxey (Billy) of Memphis, Debra Sigmin of Mountain Home AR, Ronald Cagle (Mary) of Murray KY; grandchildren Kathy Wall Lewelling (Thomas), Bryan Wall (Martha), Michael Arnold (Lisa), Eddie Huddleston, Judy Huddleston, Dana Kirk (Lindsey) Meridith (John) Weeks, 11 great grandchildren and 6 great -great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Holmes was preceded in death by his first wife of sixty two years Zadie Holmes, brothers Herchel Holmes, Terry Allen Holmes, and Herman Holmes.


Funeral Services for Mr. Holmes will be 11:00 AM Tuesday from the Johnson Chapel of Shackelford Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Johnson Chapel Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
