Henderson: Bobbie Smith Weaver, age 80, died Wednesday afternoon at Southern Oaks Assisted Living.
Mrs. Weaver was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Jerry Clyde and Mary Lessie Mullins Smith. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1952 and married Noah Franklin Weaver in 1954. They made their home in Chester County all their married life where Mr. Weaver served as Chester County Road Supervisor for 20 years. Mrs. Weaver assisted him in the road supervisor’s office and the two enjoyed gardening together. Mr. Weaver grew it and Mrs. Weaver canned it. She loved to care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and had made each of the grandchildren a quilt. She was a great cook and loved to play BINGO. She was a member of the New Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter Cyndi Weaver Kilzer and husband Troy, and a son Blair Weaver and wife Leslie all of Henderson. She was preceded in death by a daughter Bobbie Elaine Weaver Parker in 1989. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Heather Griffin, Whitney Weeks Smith, Josh Clayton, Mason Weaver, Bethany Weaver Moore, and Colton Autry, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, a brother Buddy Smith of Finger, four sisters; Lorraine Butler of Decaturville, Wilda Maness of Bartlett, Thelma Cherry of Henderson and Stella Malone of Henderson. She was preceded in death by two brothers Jerry Paul Smith and Robert Franklin Smith, and a sister Jane McDonald.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Brother Ronnie Geary and Brendan Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM Thursday.
