ALLEN RIETZ
Finger, TN: Allen Harbert Rietz age 58 Passed away February 20, 2019 at Jackson Madison General Hospital.
He was born June 10, 1960 in Nashville, TN and grew up in Camden, TN the son of the late Paul Revere Rietz, Jr. and Mary Alyse Murray Rietz. He graduated from Camden Central High School in 1978. He earned a BS in Religion and Theatre from Bethel University and then a Master of Divinity Degree from Memphis Theological Seminary in 1988. He was ordained as a Cumberland Presbyterian Minister in 1995. He served as a Supply Minister at the Claybrook Presbyterian Church. He pastored St. Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Arkansas. He then became a Supply Minister for a number of congregations in Mississippi and Tennessee.
He married Susan Jenkins November 7, 1998. He then trained in law enforcement to be a Probation Parole Officer working for the State of Tennessee.
He enjoyed hunting, collecting guns and model trains.
He is survived by his wife Susan Rietz of Finger; a son Albert Henry Rietz of the home; a brother Paul Rietz (Mary) of Oak Grove, KY; a sister Lysa Wilkes (Edward) of Henderson; a sister-in-law Sara Kratz (Curtis), a mother-in-law Pam Jenkins; a nephew William Wilkes and two nieces Emma and Elizabeth Kratz.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, February 24, at the Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Henderson.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2:00 PM Sunday and there will be a reception following the memorial service.
