Alma Jean Mullins, age 76, of Jackson passed away early Sunday morning, September 22, 2019 at her home.
She was born November 22, 1942 to the late Lee and Alice Kennedy McCormick. She grew up in Chester County and was a graduate of Chester County High School. She married Jimmy Neal Mullins on June 2, 1961 and they moved to Ackerman, MS but returned to Henderson in 1965. She worked for Chester County Sportswear for several years and then began working for Regional Hospital in Jackson, retiring after 27 years. Mr. Mullins preceded her in death on July 21, 2017 soon after celebrating their 56th anniversary.
She enjoyed doing yard work, especially flowers and bushes and even ran a landscaping business for a time with her husband. They enjoyed traveling in their camper and often spent months at a time in Florida. She was a member of the Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Henderson.
She is survived by a daughter Kimberly Jean Mullins of Jackson, a sister-in-law Mary Nell Jackson of Henderson, her beloved dog “Muffy” and several extended family members.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Willie Dean, Max, Neal and Lloyd McCormick and a sister Georgia McCormick.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 24 at Chester County Memory Gardens.
