Almedia Johnson Henry was born September 7, 1926 in Chester County, TN the daughter of the late Buel and Margie Melton Johnson.
She was united in marriage to Drexel Darrow Henry on September 4, 1948. Mr. Henry preceded her in death on August 10, 1968.
Mrs. Henry was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker for her family. She waited until her children began school before going to work for Salant & Salant Garment Manufacturing in Henderson, where she spent 22 years. Mrs. Henry was a hard worker; it seemed to her family that she invented the idea, and could outwork anyone. She enjoyed doing yardwork and gardening, as well as birdwatching. Mrs. Henry was a Baptist in belief, attending Forty Forks Baptist Church when she was able.
Mrs. Henry departed this life on May 15, 2019 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 8 Months, 8 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Elece Weaver and Zelda Stevens and husband Walter; two sons, Dennis Henry and wife Allie and Okley Henry and special friend Sherry Roark, son Billy, and granddaughter Brianna; seven grandchildren: Jeanette Williams and husband Mark, Darrell Weaver and wife Tammy, Dawn Kukura and husband Steve, Amanda Isbell, Brandi Henry and fiance Mike, Jeff Stevens and wife Jackie, Miranda Preston and husband Rick; fifteen great grandchildren: Jessica Quick and husband Josh, Megan Stevens, Jordan Weaver, Noah Weaver, Rachel Jordan, Clint Isbell, Paige Isbell, Michael Preston, Miles Preston, Leon Kukura and wife Emily, Sarah McClain and husband Tim, Matthew Preston, Kristen Campbell, Derick Daniel, Kyle Daniel; four great-great grandchildren: Everly Kukura, Avery Kukura, Charlee McClain, Leah Daniel; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by a brother, J. C. Johnson; a son-in-law, Chester Weaver; and an aunt, Jewel Johnson Barker.
