Mrs. Hornsby departed this life Thursday morning, August 8, 2019 at her home.
A lifelong resident of Hardeman County, Mrs. Hornsby was born Wednesday, December 17, 1930 in Bolivar to the late Isaac and Annie Pearl Bohannon Baker. She was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School. On Monday, November 17, 1952, she was united in marriage to Mr. Willis P. Hornsby, who survives.
Mrs. Hornsby worked as the secretary for the Superintendent of Schools at the Hardeman County Board of Education. She also worked at Hardeman County Savings Bank and was Malcom Vincent's secretary for a time. She was a member of Hornsby Baptist Church. She was famous for her dinner rolls and enjoyed gardening and cooking for others.
In addition to her husband of 66 years, Mrs. Hornsby is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hornsby Foote; son, John Parker Hornsby (Wendy); sister, Sue Baker Maloney; grandchildren, Adam Keith Foote, Shaun Parker Hornsby, Amanda Nichole Hornsby Frazier, and John Zachary Hornsby (Jessica); and great-grandchildren, Chloe Grace Frazier, Elizabeth Ann Frazier, Holden Parker Hornsby, and John Robert Goschke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Jean Newsome and Ruth Baker Sneed; and two brothers, Jack Baker and Dorris Baker.
