Armon Carlie Cook of Waynesboro, TN was born March 2, 1949 in Collinwood, TN, the son of the late Mariel Eli and Bulah Davis Cook. He was united in marriage to Patsy Downey on July 4, 1970. Mr. Cook was a retired machinist with Dura Automotives and was a member of the Wayne Furnace Church of Christ in Waynesboro, TN.
Mr. Cook departed this life on Monday, November 19, 2018 Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 69 Years, 8 Months, 17 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Downey Cook of Waynesboro, TN; a son, Richard Cook, wife, Kari of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Stephanie Lacy, husband, Todd of Nashville, TN, Candace Bass, husband, Alden of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Katherine Lacy and Desiree, Destiny, Dylan and Beatrix Bass; sisters, Wilton Glenn of Waynesboro, TN, Ellen Moody of Athens, TN and Lavonne Harris of Lawrenceburg, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cook was preceded in death by brothers, Marshall, Allen and William Wilkie Cook and a sister, Mabel Cook.
Services will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Wayne Furnace Church of Christ in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2018 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 9 am to service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Richard Cook, Alden Bass, Todd Lacy, Ben Williams, Stephen Holt and Charles Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Terrell Crews, Robert Joe Rich, Bobby Culp James Cole and Mark Cook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to Wayne Furnace Church of Christ Mission Fund or Benevolence Fund or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
