Aubrey Carter, 78, of Bolivar, departed this life Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Pine Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bolivar.

The widow of Betty West Carter, who passed away on November 24, 1999, he worked as an auto painter/detailer. He was born October 9, 1941 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, son of the late George Carter and Myrtle Louise Lott Carter, living most of his life in Hardeman County. A very artistic person, he enjoyed intricate coloring books, painting and going to and participating in local street dances. An avid Elvis Presley fan, he was a drummer with several local bands in Jackson and was a member of Shandy Baptist Church since 2015.

Survivors include an aunt, Fay McGinnis of Biloxi, MS; and his caregiver for several years, Fay Mullikin of Mercer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a daughter, Michelle. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Shandy Baptist Church.
