AVES CLAYTON
Enville, TN: Aves George Clayton, age 74, passed away February 28, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born December 23, 1946, in the Hickory Corner Community of Chester County, the son of the late Odell and Georgia Patterson Clayton. He was Deputy Sheriff in Chester County for eight years. He then began working as a self-employed dry wall contractor. His business was Clayton Construction. He married Debra Stanley on June 24, 1993.
He enjoyed hanging out with his buddies and enjoyed working and staying busy.
Mr. Clayton is survived by his wife, Debra Stanley Clayton of Enville; three sons, Davey Allen Clayton (Jennifer) of Pickwick, Darrell Ruth Clayton of AL and Adam Tyler Clayton of Bethel Springs; a daughter, Amanda Leigh Clayton of Selmer and a stepson, Jason Stanley (Lisa) of Henderson; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Dennis Clayton, Frank Clayton, Guy Ray Clayton and Paul Clayton all of Henderson and four sisters, Evelyn Weaver of Jackson, Mayrene Miller, Phyllis Holmes and Kathy Meek all of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Gerald Clayton, Geney Clayton and Earl Clayton and a sister, Hazel Clayton.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 5th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Mike Cothren officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
