Beatrice Highland was born on May 6, 1930 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Vernie Benjamin and Bertha Austin Highland.
Beatrice was a lifelong resident of the Walnut Grove Community and faithfully attended Walnut Grove Church of Christ as long as she was able. At one time she was known as being the community babysitter, and she loved all of the children she babysat dearly. You could also find her mowing grass, keeping house, and caring for her flowers.
Beatrice Highland departed this life on August 28, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 91 years, 3 months, and 22 days.
She is survived by her brothers, David Highland and his wife June of Savannah, Tennessee and Eugene Highland of Mishawaka, Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her sisters, Villa May Tilley, Flolla Qualls, Thelma Bevis, Geneva Poll, Lois Highland, and Lucille Highland; and her brothers, James Highland and Charles Highland.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Unity Hospice; her nurse, Jessica Reeves; and aides, April Leadford and Virginia Haynes.
Private services will be held.
