BERENICE WILSON HUNTER
Phoenix, AZ: Joset Berenice Wilson Hunter, age 90 passed away March 4, 2014 at her home in Phoenix, AZ.
Mrs. Hunter was born at home, May 22, 1923 in Harrisburg, AR, the daughter of the late Temple Oliver and Robbie Ola Tucker Wilson. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1940. She lived in Texas a few years, Oklahoma for twenty seven years, and in Phoenix, Arizona since 1987 where she made her home with her daughter. She was married to Cecil J. Feike and later to William DeCounter Hunter. Mrs. Hunter worked as a welder during the war at Houston Shipyard and was a licensed cosmetologist and a homemaker. Mrs. Hunter was a Baptist.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by a daughter, Laura Lynn Hunter of Phoenix, AZ; three sons, Larry Keith Feike of Hammond, LA, Jeffrey Lynn Feike of Lenoir City, TN and Randy J. Feike of New Orleans, LA; three grandchildren, Courtney and Allison Feike and Meredith Feike Crane, and one great grandchild, Charlotte Ann Crane; two brothers, Michael Wilson of Nolensville, TN and Travis Wilson of Robinson, IL; two sisters, Geraldine Wilson Earle of Cedarpark, TX and Junell Wilson Spence of Texarkana, TX and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Renay Ann Feike (2 1/2 years old); four brothers, Oliver Wilson, Troy Wilson, Don Wilson and Charles Wilson.
Laura Lynn will be forever grateful for the care and support of her mother’s devoted caregivers, Amanda Sparks, Wantanee Day, and Hospice of the Valley, Team T, Phoenix, AZ.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Charles Whitten officiating and burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 9:00 AM Monday.
