Berniece Chitwood Riley

Mrs. Bernice Chitwood Riley was born April 3, 1934 in Fairfax, OK the daughter of the late Earl and Iva Hoover Chitwood. She grew up in Fairfax, OK but then moved to Waynesboro after she was united in marriage to Elvis Riley on October 11, 1955. Mr. Riley preceded her in death on June 11, 2017. Mrs. Riley worked as a secretary for The W.J. Schoenberger Company and Lincoln Brass. She will also be fondly remembered as a dedicated homemaker. Mrs. Riley departed this life on November 13, 2021 in Jackson, Tennessee making her stay in this life some 87 Years, 7 Months and 10 Days.

She is survived by a son, Lee Riley Williams of Waynesboro, TN; two daughters, Marilyn Riley of Waynesboro, TN, Erin Williams of Jackson, TN; two sisters, Juanita Cheney of Tulsa, OK, Kathy Savage of Tulsa, OK; and a grandchild, Mia Tatum and one great grandchild Riley Kate Williams.

In addition to her husband of almost 62 years and parents, Mrs. Riley was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Riley Ary; a sister, Gwendolyn Keeth; four brothers, Thomas Chitwood, Ray Chitwood, Barton Chitwood, Troy Chitwood;

Visitation will be on Monday November 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday November 16, 2021 from 9:00 until service time at 11:00 at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro.

Services will be held on Tuesday November 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, with Gregg Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors Assisting the Family.

Those honored to serve as pallbearer will include: Lee Riley Williams, Nicholas Thompson, Seth Thompson, Chris Dixon, Kenny Smith and Roger Smith
