Betty Marie Bevis Lax

Betty Marie Bevis Lax was born November 11, 1938 in Cloverdale, the daughter of the late Wayne Wayland and Velma Luda James Bevis. She was united in marriage to William Travis Lax on May 25, 1972 and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1997.
Mrs. Lax was a retired secretary with Emerson Electric and was a member of the Puryear Baptist Church in Puryear, Tennessee.
She departed this life on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 79 years, 9 months.
She is survived by a son, Van Linzi Lax of Puryear, TN; a step-daughter, Vicki Lynn Dotson of Santa Fe, TN; a brother, Wayne C. Bevis of Pensicola, FL; a sister, Martha F. Gray and husband Carmel (Butch) of Florence, AL.
At her request, her body will be cremated and buried in Bethel Cemetery in Buchanan, TN with a graveside service at a later time.
