Mrs. Ray passed from this life on Monday morning, November 19, 2018 at her home in Bolivar.
She was born in Memphis on Monday, October 28, 1946 to Cleo Franklin and the late Addie Elizabeth Burnette Galloway and lived most all of her life in Hardeman County where she was a 1964 graduate of Grand Junction High School.
On August 29, 1964, she was united in marriage to Winfred Ray and together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Betty loved her fellow members at Rocky Springs Baptist Church where she was a member and, in years past, served as song leader. In her leisure time, she enjoyed riding on their motorcycle trike with Winfred, cooking and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Tammy Ray McDonald and husband, Roger, of Bolivar; her son, Terry Ray and wife, Angela, of Knoxville, TN; her father, Cleo F. Galloway of Saulsbury; 11 grandchildren, Jonathan (Nikki) Graham and Christy Graham, both of Jack's Creek, TN, Tara Smathers, James Tyler (Amber) Ray, Melody Grace (Jordan) Evans, Joshua, Charity, Jeremiah, Gloria, Josiah and Kathryn Ray, all of Knoxville; and three great-grandchildren, Connor, Jackson and Baylynn Graham.
