Billy Ray Holloway
Was born in Malden, Missouri on October 31, 1929, the son of Zona Everett and Ora Bell Holloway.
On July 30, 1948 he was united in marriage to Margaret Sue, who preceded him in death in May 2011. They settled in Savannah, Tennessee in their forever home in 1991.
Mr. Holloway was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He was a faithful Christian and enjoyed attending and being a member of the Senior Adult Class and the Senior Choir. He loved the Tennessee River, tinkering in the garage, mowing his grass, and taking his grandchildren and great grandchildren on boat rides. Mr. Holloway was a decorated Master Chief and served with honor in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1974. During that time he worked as an Aviation Machinist Mate.
Mr. Holloway was surrounded by family and love when he peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the age of 92 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Carol Lowdermilk of Knoxville, Tennessee; a son, Chuck Holloway of Drummonds, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Karey Lowdermilk, Matthew Lowdermilk, Dustan Holloway and wife Kristen, Brittany Flow and husband Sam; 6 great grandchildren, Logan Mize, Olivia Mize, Connor Mize, Riley Mize, Vance Holloway and Range Flow; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Betty Freeman, Jackie Holloway and Avanelle Holloway.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
