Billie Lee Thrasher

Billie Lee Thrasher was born August 8, 1936 in Steffenville, MO, the son of the late Noble Gale and Hazel Cinda Ingle Thrasher. He was united in marriage to the former Beverly Carlene Smith on November 26, 1960.

Mr. Thrasher was a retired high school teacher and a member of the Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion and the Wayne County Retired Teachers Association.

Mr. Thrasher departed this life on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 5 Months, 21 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Carlene Thrasher of Collinwood, TN; a son, Brian Thrasher and wife, Jennifer of Corinth, MS; a daughter, Becky Thrasher of Aurora, MO; grandchildren, Blaine Thrasher and wife, Claire; Lindsey Huggins and husband, Slatter and Torry Thrasher; great-grandchildren, Brody and Kylie Thrasher and Gannon and Lyla Huggins.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thrasher was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Thrasher.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Collinwood United Methodist Church, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Tommy Flood officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Honorary pallbearers will be Blaine Thrasher, Torry Thrasher, Slatter Huggins, Jerry Whitten and Don Sparks.

Visitation will be from 1 pm to service time at the church.
