BILLY BURKEEN
Tiptonville, TN: Billy Houston Burkeen age 77 passed away May 9, 2018 at Methodist University Central Hospital in Memphis.
He was born January 25, 1941 near Finger, in McNairy County, the son of the late Millard Elvis and Ruth Evelyn Goff Burkeen. He went to school at Finger and later Steel, MO. He had worked as a welder and pipe fitter and then in the paint shop doing auto body repair. He lived in Shirley, AR until 2014 when he moved to Tiptonville.
Mr. Burkeen is survived by seven sons; Jeff Burkeen of Austin, TX, Mark Burkeen of Austin, TX, David Burkeen of Topeka, KS, Tommy Burkeen of Topeka, KS, Phillip Burkeen of Poplar Bluff, MO, Christopher Burkeen of Belle Fourche, SD, and Michael Burkeen or Arkansas; five daughters; Mary Ann Martin of Halls, TN, Ruth Ann McCormick of Black Hawk, SD, Carlina Mcleod of Caruthersville, MO, Evelyn Hager of Poplar Bluff, MO, Cindy Lopez of Cabot; two brothers, Jimmy Burkeen of Potosi, MO and Ralph Burkeen of Potosi, MO and a sister, Shelby Kelly of Chicago; twenty seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Lori Ann Burkeen; a sister, Nellie Brown and two brothers, Carol Burkeen and Kenneth Burkeen a granddaughter, April Mcleod.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with burial to follow in Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Saturday.
