Bobbie Ann Burgess Randolph passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at her home in Selmer after a battle with bone cancer.
Mrs. Randolph was born July 12, 1938 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee to Norbert "Shorty" and Gaytha Finley Burgess. She attended Lambuth College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education. After a short time in Mississippi, she spent the majority of her career teaching at McNairy Central High School in Selmer, TN. She began teaching at MCHS the year it opened in 1968 and retired in 1999.
Mrs. Randolph is credited as being instrumental in forming both the women's softball and volley ball teams, coaching them both from the outset. She remained an avid supporter of the Bobcats through the years, being inducted into the MCHS Sports Hall of Fame in 2018. She enjoyed cheering for them in all sports; her blood was truly said to run blue and gold.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Neal Randolph; daughter, Sherri Randolph of Union City, TN; son, Richard Randolph (Pascale) of Manchester, TN; grandsons, Scott Randolph of Huntsville, AL and Eric Randolph of Manchester, TN; nephew/second son, Lee Henry (Melinda) of Selmer, TN; great niece, Laurie Montgomery (David) of Nashville, TN.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Sue Burgess Henry (Lloyd).
