Mrs. Dorris passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon at her home.
Mrs. Dorris was born in Fayette County to the late Daniel Malcolm and Annie Bob Henley Bishop and, except for living briefly in Chicago, had lived her adult life in Hardeman County.
On September 1, 1952, she married Mr. Guy P. Dorris, Sr., who died on January 19, 1997. Additionally, she was preceded in death by a son, Guy P. Dorris, Jr. and five brothers, Daniel Malcolm, Jr., John Harry, Joe, Edward and Lloyd Ray Bishop.
Mrs. Dorris was a homemaker and also worked for the Town House Restaurant in Bolivar and the Bank of Bolivar. She was a member of the Hornsby Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with family.
She is survived by three daughters, Scarlett (Lloyd) Sipes of Bolivar, Amber (Ricky) Moore and Lily (Greg) Barnes, both of Hornsby; son, David "Skeeter" (Sherry) Dorris of Hornsby; daughter-in-law, Debby Dorris of Jackson; three brothers, Audie Dean (Dorothy) and W. D. (Valeria) Bishop, both of Somerville and Morris "Scooter" Bishop of Whiteville; 14 grandchildren, Guy P. (Kim) Dorris, III, Candy Bunney, Ginger (Chris) Hatch, Tara (Craig) Wilson, Rachel Moore, Hunter Moore, Ginia Barnes, Clint Barnes, Katiellen (Josh) Hodge, Amy (Branon) Morris, David (Ginger) Dorris, Matthew (Brianna Gay, Fiancée) Dorris, Marianne (Collin) Howell, and Makayla (Jordan) Dunaway; 18 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie (J. D. Luttrell, Fiancé), Jaycee, and Mitchell Dorris, Trevor Bunney, Will, Presleigh, Jesse and Jacks Hatch, Ally Sipes, Tanley Moore, Ryder Hodge, Harley, Max, Maggie and Charley Kate Morris, Brody and Caden Dorris and Chandler Fay Dunaway; and one great-great-grandchild, Cash Luttrell.
