Bobby G. Overton

Mr. Bobby Gene Overton was born February 2, 1939 in Clifton, TN to the union of the late Thomas Green and Daisy Ona Templeton Overton. He was united in marriage to Charlene Staggs on August 17, 1972. Mr. Overton was a Truck Driver for Ryder, a Farmer and a member of the 48 Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Overton departed this life on June 18, 2020 in Waynesboro, Tennessee making his stay in this life some 81 Years, 4 Months and 16 Days.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charlene Staggs Overton of Waynesboro, TN; three sons, Terry Overton and wife Joan of Waynesboro, TN, Eugene Overton and wife Bettye of Waynesboro, TN, Chris Staggs and wife Rita of Waynesboro, TN; three daughters, Quinda McLaughlin and husband Kenneth of Waynesboro, TN, Melinda Williams and husband Richard "Milky" of Waynesboro, TN, and Dana Heffner and husband John of Parma, OH. Mr. Overton is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Overton was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Lynn Beason; a grandson, Gene Chadwick Beason; five brothers, Walter Overton, Teddy Overton, Eddie Overton, Nathaniel Overton, Loyd Jack Overton; and three sisters, Louise Stricklin, Bonnie Skelton, Guyula Brown.

Services will be held on June 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN with Tim Hanback and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Overton Cemetery.

Visitation will be on June 19, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday June 20, 2020 from 10:00 am until service time at 3:00 PM
