Bobby G. Tranum, age 79, of Toone, passed away at his home on Monday, July 25, 2016.
Bobby Gene Tranum was born on January 8, 1937, to the late P.J. Tranum and Lizzie Lovella Majors in Hardeman County, TN. He married Pauline Parker Tranum on February 19, 1956, with whom he was married to for sixty years. For thirty years, Bobby was a truck driver for Steve D. Thompson, Southern States, and Shippers Choice. He was the owner of Tranum Logging Co. until retiring due to health issues. Mr. Tranum was a member of the Porters Creek Baptist Church. He attended Middleton High School. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were his pride and joy. Bobby served in the US Navy. He loved coon and rabbit hunting, watching his grandkids play baseball, and he loved to blacksmith, working to shoe horses. Other than his time in the Navy, he lived in Memphis for thirty years and lived the rest of his life in Hardeman County, TN.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Tranum of Toone; two sons, Jeff Tranum(Carla) of Silerton, and Jackie Tranum(Marilyn) of Bolivar; four sisters, Dorothy Mullen of Toone, Ruthie Stewart(Bobby) and Sandra McAlpin(Charles) of Middleton, and Betty Tranum of Hornsby; three brothers, Jimmy Trainum(Jerry), Johnny Tranum(Francine), and Travis Tranum(Phyllis) of Middleton; five grandchildren, Josh Tranum, Ashley Williams(Greg), Lesley Stevens(Tony), Todd Tranum, and Tyler Tranum; and five great-grandchildren, Blake Stevens, Faith Stevens, Abagail Williams, Wyatt Williams, and Carter Tranum. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Anthony Tranum; and a brother, Billy Tranum.
