Brad Elam

April 14, 1973 — October 8, 2021

The family requests that masks be worn, and social distancing be practiced at both the visitation and the funeral service.

Brad Elam was born on April 14, 1973 in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of Billy and Dorothy Elam.

On November 5, 2005, he was united in marriage to Alyon White, who survives.

Brad was a member and song leader at Trinity United Methodist Church. He didn't have an official title, but he did everything but preach. He was always the first to help with all church activities and the last to leave. Brad was also a great help to all the widows in the church.

Brad was a self-employed professional tile installer. He was well known for his superb tile installation skills. His beautiful work can be seen in many homes throughout Savannah, Pickwick, Clifton, and many other places. People often would wait months to be added to his list, as he was a stickler for perfection in all the work he had done.

Brad grew up riding horses and three-wheelers and making lifelong friends along the way. He was deeply loved by his family and he loved telling stories of his grands and cousins. He loved nature, fishing, and hunting everything in its season. It was outdoors that he found peace and could truly relax and enjoy God's creation. His years at Martin were spent riding bareback on the rodeo team, forming more friendships along the way. In his late 20s, he met his future wife on the Tennessee River with the funniest pick up line ever. But it worked and he spent the last 20 years of his life completely devoted to God, his wife, and family. He was a blessing to all who knew him and often did things for others he never told anyone about. Brad had a true servants heart and loved people and life with all he had.

Brad Elam departed this life on October 8, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 48 years, 5 months, and 28 days.

He is survived by his wife, Alyon White Elam of Savannah, Tennessee; parents, Billy and Dorothy Elam; sister, Cindy Elam Short; niece, Malory Berry and her husband Clint; nephews, Landon Garrard and Braxton Garrard; great nephew, Briggs Elam Berry; and Godson, William Lewis.

Brad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rob Hardin, Magdelene Hardin, Other Elam, and Lily Elam; and nephew, Jamie White.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Trinity Methodist Church; 700 County Home Road; Savannah, Tennessee 38372.
