Brenda Gail Mathis Gobbell

Brenda Gail Mathis Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN was born September 14, 1953 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of the late Floyd and Beulah Marie Skelton Mathis. She was united in marriage to Joel Edward Gobbell on November 24, 1973. Mrs. Gobbell was a member of the Mt. Hope Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee and departed this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 65 Years, 10 Months, 2 Days

She is survived by her husband, Joel Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN; a son, Chad Gobbell and wife, Mandy of Lawrenceburg, TN; a daughter, Candi Holt and husband, Stephen of Waynesboro, TN; six grandchildren, Cassidy and Ethan Holt, Mason, Mabry and Cambreia Lineberry and Colton Gobbell; two brothers, Larry Mathis and wife, Carolyn of Waynesboro, TN and Jeff Mathis and wife, Tammy of Pulaski, TN and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Highland Methodist Church Cemetery in the Ovilla Community, Lawrenceburg (Wayne Co), Tennessee with Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, assisting the family. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Friday, July 19, 2019 from 9 am to 12:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN.

Pallbearers will be Chad Gobbell, Stephen Holt, Ethan Holt, Mason Lineberry, Larry Mathis and Jeff Mathis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Mathis, Cody Mathis and Mike Stricklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be give to the American Cancer Society, The Hope Lodge of Nashville or the Ladies in Pink.
