Bro. Orville Howell, 88, of Middleton, departed this life Saturday afternoon, February 22, 2020 at Pine Meadows Healthcare Center in Bolivar.
A native of the Serles Community in Hardeman County, he was born January 28, 1932, one of twelve children born to the late Willie Everett Howell and Lillie Gertrude Sisco Howell and lived all of his life here. He worked in maintenance at Harmon Automotive, retiring after 30 years and also was a logger. Most people knew and loved him as the pastor at Brint's Chapel Baptist Church, where he served for 20 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, and riding and training horses. He married Bonnie Ann Stewart on February 17, 1951 and together they raised 6 children in a loving and godly household.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Bonnie Howell of Middleton; three daughters, Carolyn McKee (Wayne) of Middleton, Sarah Zeboski (John) of Bolivar and Becky White (Cavin) of Middleton; three sons, Jerry Howell (Diane) of Jackson, Dwade Howell (Debra) and Jimmy Howell, all of Middleton; a sister, Linda Webb of Jackson; two brothers, William and Frankie Howell, both of Middleton; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sadie Mae, Lillie Faye and Dorothy; 5 brothers, Billy Joe, Leon, James, Virgil and Jackie Howell; and a grandchild, Justin Cossar.
