'Bud' Palmer

‘BUD’ PALMER
Henderson, TN: Durance Augusta Palmer, Jr., age 84, passed away January 29, 2019 at his home.
He was born June 20, 1934 in Caseyville, IL, the son of the late Durance Augusta Palmer, Sr. and Augustine Thomas Palmer. He grew up in Texas and joined the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and served four years. He married Janie Martin March 22, 1990 and they moved to Henderson shortly after. He was a dump truck driver for Scott Contractors in Memphis for about ten years until he retired. He was a member of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville and attended Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
He was a musician, loved to sing and play guitar, especially gospel music at church. He liked western movies and was a John Wayne fan.
Mr. Palmer is survived by two sons, Michael W. McCulley (Sherry) of Eads, TN and Christopher A. Wiggins (Jessica) of Grand Junction, TN; fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a sister, Jene Metcalf of Dallas, TX.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Sanford Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Connor officiating.
The family will receive friends at Sanford Hill Baptist Church 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Thursday.
