Carlene Hanback Rich is singing with the angels in her heavenly home. She passed from this life, July 30, 2018 at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 21 days. Mrs. Rich attended church and UMW at Whitten's Crossroads Methodist Church. She loved singing christian music, quilting, traveling and she could make the best fried pie in the county.
Survivors are a son, Bobby Glen Rich, wife, Julie of Iron City, TN; daughters, Jeanette Staggs, husband, Larry of Iron City, TN, Alice Bratton, husband, Randy of Florence, AL, Patsy Stults, husband, Michael of Ottawa, KS; grandchildren, Stephanie Arnett, Randa Wilson, Amber Utter, Dunley Stults and Whitney Stults; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Norman Hanback, wife, Sue of Florence, AL; nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rich was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Elsie Thrasher Hanback, her husband, Marvin Glen Rich and her siblings, Elaine, Ivan, Athen, Talmadge and W. C. Hanback.
Services will be Friday, August 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Whitten Crossroads Methodist Church, Iron City, Tennessee, with Ron Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Dan Rich, Whitney Stults, Paul Utter, Cody Arnett, Neal Hunt and Andrew Wilson and honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Beckham, Charlie Dorsey and Robert Dixon.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 6 to 9 pm and Friday, August 3, 2018 from 9 am to 12:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood.
