Carol Kent Gentry, age 77, of Memphis, passed away Saturday evening, November 28, 2020, at Baptist Hospital - DeSoto in Southaven, MS.
She was a native and life-long resident of Memphis, daughter of the late Walter Clifford Kent and Ruby Dell Lovelace Kent. She had been a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and attended Millington First Baptist Church, also. Mrs. Gentry worked as a medical transcriber retiring from the VA Hospital in Memphis, and, in her leisure time, enjoyed playing tennis (in her younger years), drawing, painting, writing poetry and books.
She leaves her daughter, Ruby Carol Gentry of Union City, TN; a sister, Jane Ellen Kent Warner; several cousins; and her former husband, James Hugh Gentry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Gentry; and two aunts, Arlene Butler and Lillian Blount.
