Carolyn Bingham
Henderson: Carolyn Rhodes Bingham passed away August 28, 2019 at her home.
She was born August 11, 1934 in the Teague Community of Hardeman County, the daughter of the late Floyd Candon and Lola Ervin Rhodes. She graduated from Bolivar High School in 1952.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty two years, Thomas Griggs Bingham.
She was retired from the Chester County Board of Education. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Gleaners House.
She was a member of the Chester County Retired Teachers Association and served on the Election and the Credentials Committee at Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation. She had served as foreman of the Chester County Grand Jury and on the Chester County Election Commission.
She is survived by her daughter Anne Bingham Simmons and husband Aaron of Burns, TN, three grandchildren ; Nicole ‘Nikki” Maness (Derick), Michael Naylor, and Rachel Simmons, and five great grandchildren; Kain Naylor, Draven Maness, Maxton Maness, Greyson Simmons, and Scarlett Maness and a sister Mary Rhodes Graves and husband Ronald of Cookeville, TN.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Spellings officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors East Main from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday and Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until
11:00 AM at Trinity.
