Carolyn Fay Young Taylor, 78, of Toone, departed this life Monday, April 1, 2019 at her home.
The wife of Herman Floyd Taylor, who survives, she was a homemaker. She was born January 7, 1941 in Hardeman County, daughter of the late James Edward Young and Ethel Louise Young. She married Herman Floyd Taylor of May 9, 1957 in Corinth, MS and they made their home in Memphis until 1992, at which point they moved back here. She worked for 20 years for H&R Block and also worked at Thrift Haven School Day Care. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and sewing, but held her greatest love for her family, whom she loved to be around. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include 2 daughter, Linda Johannes (Chuck) of Fredericksburg, VA and Reba Knight (Chip) of Scott City, KS; two sisters, Nell Jones (Alvin) and Margie Burnette, all of Toone; a brother, David Young (Barbara) of Eustis, FL; 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Street (Clay), Melissa Shively (Dave), Paul Johannes, Kathryn Charlton(Justin), Summer Ford and Robert Knight; and 10 great grandchildren, Abbigale, Victoria & Olivia Ford, Lorelei, Dean and Evelyn Street, Parker & Savannah Shively, Tristan and Paxton Charlton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Carl Wade (Beau) Young.
