Cecil Bradford Scruggs

Cecil Bradford Scruggs of Waynesboro, TN was born February 13, 1938 in Tuscaloosa, AL, the son of the late Clarence and Mattie Taylor Scruggs. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Hivley on August 30, 1958.

Mr. Scruggs was a retired machinist, having worked with Ford Stamping and TVA. He was a member of the UAW and departed this life Saturday, January 6, 2018 at his home at the age of 79 Years, 10 Months, 24 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Hivley Scruggs of Waynesboro, TN; a son, Brad Scruggs and wife, Monica of Iron City, TN; daughters, Kathy Scruggs of Altadena, CA, Beth Burns and husband, Randy of Clifton, TN; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; nephew, Michael Hope; niece, Laura Lee Hope Winslett.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Scruggs was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Ruth Hope.

Services will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Lynette Flood officiating. Cremation will follow with burial of cremated remains in Evans Chapel Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Monday, January 8, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from noon until service time at the funeral home.
