Charlene Riedout Kilburn

Charlene Riedout Kilburn of Florence, AL was born September 4, 1927 in Hardin Co., TN, the daughter of the late Roy Edward and Clara Perry Riedout. She was united in marriage to Willie Paul Kilburn on February 2, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2013.

Mrs. Kilburn was a homemaker and minister's wife and departed this life on September 14, 2019 at her son's home at the age of 92 Years, 10 Days.

She is survived by a son, Kevin Darrell Kilburn of Florence, AL; a daughter, Paulette Steele and husband, William Charles Steele, Jr. of Granger, IN; grandchildren, William Charles Steele, III and wife, Amy and Ashley Paige Andrews and husband, Tim; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Amelia and Lydia Steele and Emerald and Amethyst Andrews; brothers, James, Coye and Larry Riedout all of Florence, AL; a sister, Shirley Allison of Cypress Inn, TN and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Kilburn was preceded in death by sons, Ricky Lane and Gary Dwayne Kilburn and brothers, Buddy Earl, W. J., Alton and Leroy Riedout.

The family says "we feel blessed to have had a wonderful mother, a stay at home mon, who met all our needs with love and support all our lives. Everyone should be so lucky. She proudly served in her role as a pastors wife, for most of her life, in every church Dad pastored. She lived to serve the Lord and instilled the love of the Lord in her children. Compassion and caring were her strong suits. Reading her Bible daily and giving encouragement to those around her was a true testament to who she was. We considered it a blessing and a gift back to her, to be able to care for her in her final months of life. She loved the Lord, her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. We will miss her smile, quick wit and sense of humor. We believe she was met by Dad, Gary and Ricky for a grand reunion on the streets of gold. We rest with the assurance we will all be together again. Family was everything to her and she was everything to us!"

Services will be held on September 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Dennis Hanvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lutts Cemetery, Lutts, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Danny Kilburn, William Steele, Ashley Steele Andrews, Johnathon Reece, Greg Allison, Tim Andrews, Bobby Riedout and Marshall White.
