Charles Robert "Charlie" Ross

April 15, 1956 — January 22, 2020

Mr. Ross, age 63, of Cloverport, passed away at his home on Wednesday evening, January 22, 2020.

Born in Jackson, he was a life-long resident of the Hatchie Station community of Hardeman and Madison counties. His parents were the late William Curtis and Virginia Louise Ross. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mike Ross; and sister-in-law, Beverly Belch.

On September 16, 1976, he was united in marriage to Cindy Turpin Ross, who survives. Mr. Ross served his country in the US Navy and had formerly been a member of the Maple Springs Baptist Church. At the time of his passing, he was part of the Mercer Baptist Church. His working career was spent as a electrical superintendent, most recently working for Center Line Electric in Bells, TN.

In his leisure time, Charlie loved to fish, work in his garden and on the farm. Known as "Pop" to his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, he was always ready and willing to help them with whatever questions or needs came their way. He enjoyed passing his knowledge along to them and others.

In addition to his wife of 43 years, he leaves his daughter, Tammy Lynette King (James); and his son, Robert Allen Ross (Ashley), both of Cloverport; his three sisters, Margaret Allen (Larry) of Bells, Sherry Chism (Don) of Jackson and Mary Daniel, also of Jackson; his two brothers, James Belch of Mercer and Wayne Ross (Debbie) of Bolivar; six grandchildren, Shelby and Ross King, Brooke, Eli, Ella and Easton Ross; a host of nieces and nephews; and his dog, "Bailey".

Memorials are asked to go St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. http://www.stjude.org
