Charlotte Wayne Tease was born at Colbert County Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama on April 6, 1936, the daughter of the late James Albert and Hattie Wayne Counts Tease. Not long after completing high school, she married Grady Yeiser, Jr. The date was November 26, 1954. They were within days of their 68th anniversary when she died at home following a lengthy illness.
Charlotte spent her life making a home for Grady and their three daughters. An excellent cook, she loved spending time with her family. The house and yard were always immaculate, a tribute to her love of gardening and yard work—and her talent with a brush and oil paints led to many a sweatshirt being created for her grandchildren. Traveling was another favorite pastime, one she enjoyed sharing with her husband. As a matter of fact, they rarely ever disagreed . . . until it came to football. Grady was a hardcore University of Tennessee fan while Charlotte stood firmly in Alabama’s camp. He never could get her to see the error of her ways.
A long-time member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Charlotte was very involved in their activities, including their banner ministry which she oversaw for several years, making many of the banners they used. Through the years, Charlotte worked with a number of community organizations and efforts and was always participating in school activities as long as her three were students.
Charlotte Yeiser left this world on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the age of 85 years, seven months, and four days. She leaves her husband and love of her life, Grady Yeiser, Jr. of Savannah, Tennessee, her three daughters, Denise Burcham and her husband Jim and Donna Davis and her husband Kevin, all of Savannah, Tennessee, and Diane Patty of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and her brother Ed Tease and his wife Anne of Florence, Alabama. Charlotte is also survived by her grandchildren Brad Burcham and his wife Kristen, Barrett Davis and his wife Bess, Charlotte Burcham, Michele Ivester and her husband Taylor, Carmen Patty, Clif Patty and his wife Alicia, Ben Davis, and Chris Burcham, and her great-grandchildren Blaine Burcham, Bryce Burcham, Addie Burcham, Marshall Patty, Laurel Davis, and Isabella Ivester, as well as her two nieces, two great-nieces, and one great-nephew.
