Chasity Vaughan Watkins

Mrs. Watkins passed from this life on Monday, August 31, 2020, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

A life-long resident of Hardeman County, she was born in Jackson, TN to Jerry and Jane Kennamore Vaughan. She graduated high school in 2002, attended Jackson State Community College and also graduated from TCAT in Whiteville. On May 8, 2004, Chasity married Andrew Watkins and they had two children, Anna Kate and Colton Andrew Watkins. Additional survivors include her brother, Brandon Vaughan (Jordan) of Middleton; maternal grandmother, Sue Kennamore of Middleton; uncle, Carl Kennamore of Middleton and aunt, Terry Lewellen of Olive Branch, MS.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, R. C. Kennamore; paternal grandparents, Edward and Eloise Vaughan; and uncle, Leslie Kennamore.

Chasity was an active member of New Hope Church of Christ where she was the pre-school Sunday School class teacher, worked with the church's VBS and Kid's Bible School (held monthly on Saturday) and did mission work in Jamaica. One of her favorite activities was preparing Christmas Joy Boxes the church sends to their Panama Mission each holiday season. She also loved to sing. She and her family had attended the Diana Singing in Diana, TN many times since 2014 and were active in organizing and participating in local singings in Hardeman County.

Chasity was a devoted mother and wife, who enjoyed traveling with her family especially on vacations to Disneyworld. She home schooled her children, worked with them on 4-H projects and even helped coach their soccer teams.

* Maintain 6 feet between yourself and the next closest person;
* Refrain from hugs and handshakes;
* When you sneeze or cough, use your elbow to cover your nose and mouth;
* Wash your hands often;
* Avoid touching your face; and
* Minimize time spent in places where people gather.
