Chester Earl Stricklin departed this life on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the age of 70 years and 5 months. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on November 6, 1951, the son of the late Gilbert and Marcella White Stricklin. On June 10, 1972, he was united in marriage to Peggy Cox, who survives.
For over 50 years Chester worked in the auto body industry beginning his career at Morgan’s Body Shop in 1971 and worked there until 1991, owned and operated Chester’s Auto Body Shop from 1992 until 2015, and from 2016 until 2022 he worked at Wilbanks Body Shop.
Chester enjoyed antique tractors, loved fishing, attending church singings, Bluegrass festivals, and music. He just enjoyed life in general.
In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, Peggy Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee, Chester is survived by his daughter, Amy Howard of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Tyler “T.J.” Hammock and his wife Laura, and Allison Hammock; and a great granddaughter, Madelyn Rae Hammock.
