Clarence "Toby" Walker

Clarence (Toby) Walker was born January 15, 1936 in Rome, GA the son of the late Daniel Wilson Walker and Jewell Wrennie Garrett Walker.

He was united in marriage to Sandra Lacey on May 13, 1960.

Mr. Walker worked for over 26 years at General Electric. After retiring, he did contract work at General Electric until the age of 80. He traveled all over while working for GE, including 48 states and 8 countries. He holds several electrical patents,and was the only American to contribute to the writing of Canada Electrical Code. Prior to his career at GE, he worked on Gemini, Mercury, Appollo, and Skylab Missions and Projects. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Mr. Walker was a humble, honest and generous man. His trade by day was an engineer, hobbies were gardening, wood working and cheering the Auburn Tigers but his master of creation was his world famous chili recipe and it was enjoyed by many throughout the years at GE. His recipe has been shared with many people across the states.

Mr. Walker departed this life on December 10, 2018 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 82 Years, 10 Months, 25 Days. He is survived by his wife Sandra Walker of Selmer, TN; two sons, Douglas Walker and wife Kim of Nashville, TN, Jason Walker and wife Mollie of Germantown, TN; two daughters, Kimberly Ballard of Selmer, TN, Pamela Whitley and husband Mark of Selmer, TN; 11 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, two sisters, Dannie Lagen of Cordova, TN, and Esther Billingsley of Lakeland, FL; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by a sister, Priscilla Robinson.

In lieu of flowers charitable donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
