Clifford Balentine

February 13, 1940 — March 19, 2019

CLIFFORD BALENTINE

was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on February 13, 1940 the son of the late Elmer Clyde and Mattie May Stone Balentine.

On April 4, 2013 he was united in marriage to Irene Lambert, who survives.

Clifford was the owner and operator of EC Balentine Trucking of Savannah, Tennessee and attended Nixon Pentecostal Church. He worked for himself most of his life, but almost of the work he did had to do with 18 wheelers, just like his brother, Joe. He was known as the life of the party and he loved to make people laugh. Those close to him knew if you were his friend he would do anything for you, but if he wasn't fond of you then it was best to have left him alone. His greatest love was his children and grandchildren. In his spare time, he loved riding motorcycles and singing Merle after he had a little nip of Crown. Clifford was one of a kind and will be remembered as caring, generous, and considerate. He was a loving husband, daddy, papaw, brother, son and friend.

Clifford departed this life on March 19, 2019 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 79 years, 1 month, and 6 days.

In addition to his wife of 5 years, Irene of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by his children, Johnnie Hosea, Stacey Balentine, Tammy Ratliff, and Randy Ford, all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Laicey Balentine, Jessica Jarrell, Caitlin Hosea, Hunter Hosea, Matthew Hosea, Anna Broadway, Hannah Ratliff, Shelby Bernier, Travis Haynes, Kristen Cherry, Brandon Balentine, and Matthew Balentine; and his sisters, Charlene Pope, Pamela Currotto, Juanita Clayton, Martha Pitts, Francis Wood and Mildred McInnish, all of Florence, Alabama.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rocky Balentine and Ryan Balentine; one daughter, Kim Balentine; one sister, EveDean Woods; and two brothers, Danny Balentine and Joe Balentine.
