CLYDE BESHIRES
Henderson, TN: Clyde Odell Beshires age 93 passed away Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born March 6, 1924 in Chester County, the Phillips School House Community the son of the late John Adams and Rona Roland Beshires. He was educated in Chester County Schools at Phillips School House. He graduated 8th grade and farmed with his family until he entered the U.S. Army and served in the European Theatre of Operations with the B Battery 272nd field artillery service from Normandy Beach Head in France to Elbe River in Germany. He received 3 Battle Stars including Battle of the Bulge and was discharged in 1946. He was married to Thelma Marie Arnold of the same community on February 8, 1947. They made their home in that community all their married life. Mr. Clyde was retired from the Brown Shoe Co. and General Electric. Mrs. Beshires passed away in October 31, 2016.
He was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church, where he served on the Cave Springs Cemetery Committee for over fifty years. He also served as a lieutenant for the Silerton Fire Dept. for over 15 years. Mr. Clyde was an avid rabbit hunter and a farmer.
Mr. Beshires is survived by two daughters, Gale Fletcher of Jackson and Melinda Parker and husband Boyd of Henderson and three sons, Bo Beshires, Tim Beshires and wife Janice and Jason Beshires and wife Kathy all of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Kinman (William), Hope Cornelison (Steve) Lance Beshires, Sara Beth Connor (Kyle), John Beshires (Brandi), Matthew Beshires (Brittany), Whitney Beshires and Ryan Beshires and twelve great grandchildren; Jordan and Ashley Kinman, Abby and Trae Cornelison , Braxton, Deacon, and Kinsley Connor, Eli and Walker Beshires, Manning Beshires, Gracie Lott and Graham Bickings, and two sisters, Faye Crouse and Sandra Lott and two brothers, Jerry and Buster Beshires all of Henderson and care giver Kathy Conners.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Cloud and seven brothers, Jackie, J.L., Haven, Wayne, Cornice, Larry and Bobby Beshires.
Funeral services will be 11 am Monday at the Cave Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson - Crook Avenue Chapel from 5 pm to 9 pm on Sunday and again from 8 am to 10 am on Monday at the Crook Avenue Chapel.
