Cristy Lynn Ingle was born in Savannah, Tennessee on January 13, 1969. She was the only daughter of Gerald “Clown” Ingle and Patty Porter Ingle. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers, Chad Ingle and spouse Susan, and Clint Ingle and wife Amy.
Cristy lived in Hardin County, Tennessee for most of her life. She also lived in Iuka, Mississippi for some time, during which she made a host of friends, whom she considered family. During her life, she worked at many restaurants in the Pickwick area. She always said that she loved being a waitress because she liked meeting new people each day. She attended Holland’s Creek United Methodist Church with her family. She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and cooking for those whom she loved. She made a fantastic crab bisque and pork roast that would melt in your mouth. She had a smile that could light up a room and she never met a stranger.
Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Cassie Johnson Tidwell and husband Josh, and son Jacob Johnson and wife Alyce. Her three grandsons affectionately referred to her as “Mimi.” Her oldest grandson, Laiden Johnson, was her “little man” and was the light of her life. Her middle grandson, Job Johnson, was her “little monkey.” Her youngest grandson, Greer Tidwell, was her “Sour Patch Kid.” She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Brandi Moody, and step-grandchildren, Peyton, Gracie and Ella, all of whom she dearly loved.
Cristy loved being an aunt and is survived by her nieces and nephews, Cherish Ingle Simmons, Dalton Wicker, Dillon Eaker and spouse Calli Jo, Bryson Ingle, Cooper Ingle and Dakota Wicker and great niece and nephew, Maelee Simmons and Cash Eaker. Additionally, she is survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Luther Cherry Porter, Katie Porter Wardlow and Cleston Wardlow, and her paternal grandparents, Ulva and Dixie Ingle.
Cristy passed away in her home surrounded by family and friends on November 16, 2018 after a long battle with ovarian cancer. During this battle, her mother provided her with constant care in a way that only a mother could. Cristy will be greatly missed, but it is a comfort to know that she is in the loving arms of God Our Father.
