Our beautiful mother got her angel wings Wednesday morning, July 18th, 2018. We will never be the same, but we are rejoicing for her homegoing! It was just a "see you later"! Crystal Morris Stooksberry, 80, Iron City, TN, was born October 22, 1937 in Florence, AL, the daughter of the late Wayne and Muriel Ticer Morris. She married J. W. Stooksberry, May 2, 1958 and he preceded her in death, August 20, 2005. Mrs. Stooksberry was retired from South Central Human Resources and was a member of the Scotts Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Cypress Inn, Tennessee.
She is survived by sons, Gary Stooksberry, wife, Pam, Collinwood, TN, Steve Stooksberry, Tuscumbia, AL; daughter, Marla Davenport, husband, Dillion, Iron City, TN; grandchildren, Paige Overstreet, husband, Junior, Misty Caperton, husband, Caleb, Erin Knight, husband, Kevin, Kelli Beckham, husband, Terry Joe, Cody Stooksberry, wife, Lauren, Conner Davenport, wife, Taylor and Kelby Davenport; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Madalyn Overstreet, Miley Caperton, Presleigh Horton, Wyatt Knight and Landree and Reeland Beckham; brother, David Morris, wife, Gail, Florence, AL; sister, Doris Hennings, husband, John, Florida and special brother's and sister's-in-law and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stooksberry was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Tamara Stooksberry.
Services will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Scotts Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Cypress Inn, Tennessee, with Tim Hanback and Junior Overstreet officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be David Berry, Blake Daniel, Steve Barkley, Darrell West, Curtis Pigg and Greg Pigg with nephews serving as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10 am until service time at the church.
