Dan McCain Guinn IV, age 54 of Henderson, departed this life on July 7, 2020. Dan was born on February 7, 1966, the son of late Dan McCain Guinn III and Ann Averitt Guinn. He attended Chester County Schools and graduated in 1984. As a teenager, he worked in his father’s grocery store, Guinn’s Supermarket in Henderson.
Dan attended Jackson State Community College and began working at Procter and Gamble in Jackson, TN on November 26, 1984, which was later purchased by Kelloggs. During his 35 years at the manufacturing facility, he worked as a plant technician and was a loyal employee that rarely missed a day of work. He served on the fire brigade and was a first responder, as well as a mentor to many. Dan had recently started working at Sonoco in June of 2020.
Dan was well known for his sense of humor and love for pulling pranks. He was an obsessive cleaner that kept all his possessions organized and in a pristine manner. He loved to shop and travel locally, boating, working in the yard, and spending time with his grandson.
Dan is survived by his wife, Amy Rowland Guinn. He was most proud of his daughters, Kaela McCain Guinn (and fiance Colton Autry) and Mallee Elizabeth Fincher (and husband Noah) but the light of his life was his grandson, Easton Tritt Fincher.
He also leaves behind his step-children, Houston (Katie) Tull and Scarlett Tull and grandson Hudson Grey Tull, his in-laws Jackie and Linda Rowland and a sister, Mary Ann Guinn; as well as numerous coworkers that he considered his family.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lattie Averitt and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Guinn.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 16th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue, with Shane Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Henderson City Cemetery.
